Lets Talk Diaper Bags....

Ok, let's face it, me going for just a "stylish" diaper bag this time around is completely out of the question. I am also so tired of not having any room for anything. When this little one is born I'm sure I won't really have to do much packing for Jaycelyn anymore. Just packing for a newborn is a lot in itself plus Noah.

Here are my thoughts!

First of all I'm going to need something hands free and very roomy. I like my stuff to be organized and in a specific place! This is what I'm looking at as of right now. It's not cute or stylish but it seems like it has a lot of room and it's a backpack so it would be so much easier! Also, it is bigger than what it looks in the picture. It is made by ERGO baby and you can read more about it here!

So that is all of my thoughts on that right now and if anyone has used this backpack please let me know or if you have any other ideas of something that would fit my "criteria" it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Photo Overload

I was looking through some pictures that we've had and some that we got from my mom's camera and I thought I would share some (a lot) of them that I thought were worth sharing!

This baby is so FULL...

Jaycelyn had her face painted as a puppy dog...

Jason, my brother-in-law Mark, my uncle Kevin, Noah, Grandpa, my brother Caleb, and my Dad...

My Sweet Noah

Yesterday, I decided that Noah absolutely needed a hair cut. I guess I was holding off as long as I could because I felt like he wouldn't be a baby anymore! :( Bless his heart though, his hair was in his eyes. It grew so fast! Jaycelyn hasn't even had her first haircut yet and she is now 2 1/2! I guess because she wears bows and I can keep it out of her face but Noah really doesn't have that option. This is how long it was when she combed it out....

He held so still most of the time which was such a surprise. This is the one child I have ever had to fight for 15 minutes just to change his diaper or clothes! I think it's because he was being shy and had no clue where he was....

And then my new little man...

And Tonight....

I got to spend some One on One time with him. Jaycelyn spent the night with my mom last night and again tonight. I miss her so much but it's so nice to be able to spend some good quality time with each of them every once in a while. I might get more time with Jaycelyn if Noah would spend the night somewhere but he's just like his daddy! (a home body who likes to be in his own bed!) Noah did spend the night with my parents earlier this week but wound up in the bed with them at 4am. That's okay though! One day he'll probably be biting at the bit to leave so i'm okay with it for now!

While Jason went to town to get him and Noah something to eat, I gave Noah a bath and we read some books. He got to play in the tub a little longer than usual because I bathe him and his sister back to back and it's usually close to bedtime. You know what that means! Two ill worn out little babies!

After his bath I got a couple of pictures of him. This one is funny because he didn't want to take a picture of course....

and then I told him Daddy got him Chicken Nuggets ( From McDonalds! No I'm not proud to admit that I feed my kids McDonalds every once in a while but it makes me feel a little better to say most of the time we eat home cooked meals and nothing processed so I think it's okay every once in a while :)) he changed his attitude a little bit!

When he got his food he was my sweet little boy again...

Noah is exactly 16 months old today and time has flown by so fast. My babies are growing up so quickly. I wish I could stop time so that nothing slips by!

Frugal Friday

Honestly we could all live a little more frugal and anyone that knows me can tell you that I definitely need to, especially with our 3rd baby on the way. I am going to try to steadily do this so that I can somewhat hold myself accountable for it. Since my husband is constantly on me about how we can cut costs and save unnecessarily spent money then I'm going to try to jump in the same boat with him. Even though sometimes he can get a little overboard like making our own soap. There is nothing wrong with making your own soap, it might actually be a fun craft but I'll stick with Dove for now.

For this week's Frugal Friday I'm going to say continue with cooking more meals at home and not going out as much. We have been doing this for a couple of months and can say I am pretty proud. If you read my last post then that was another reason for our "stay at home date night".

If you lay it out and see how much money you are spending on those 4 or more $50+ meals a month plus what you're spending on your grocery bill for at home meals then you could double your grocery money per month. Which means you could save a couple hundred dollars per month. To some that may not be much but every penny adds up and over a years time you have over $1,000.00. And just think, that's only one way of being frugal.

9 Weeks and Counting...

Today, I am 9 weeks 5 days and I've been feeling so much better than I was a couple of weeks ago. First of all my doctor took me off from work again for bursitis. Being pregnant, there is very little that I can do about it and my primary doctor will not see me at all while pregnant. I haven't had any problems resting my arm because I've had absolutely no energy. Seriously I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been out of the house in the last month. Pretty bad, I know! Thanks to my wonderful husband who has been home lately and helps me out so much. In the beginning I was really nauseous up until last week sometime. This didn't happen with Jaycelyn or Noah so this is new to me. It would've been okay if it would've just been around one time during the day, but NO it was all day every day unless I was laying down. There were some days that I just pretty much didn't even get out of bed unless I had too. The weird thing though is I had an enormous appetite and really wanted to eat but couldn't. As a matter of fact, I still have an enormous appetite. Maybe that is why I have popped out all of the sudden in a matter of days. Baby or just fat, whatever it is, I'm measuring at 33 inches and the baby is now the size of a prune measuring at 1.5 inches long.

Speaking of food, while I'm on the subject. A while back Jason decided that we together should cook something new every friday night. Something that we didn't eat often or just looked really good. Maybe this was his way of having be bring in some new things to the menu. Either way, that was kind of gonna be like an extra date night. We didn't have to spend any money going out and we got to do something together in the comfort of our own home. Jason loves to eat so he is always up for finding new things. This is the same person who decided he was going to cook dinner one night and while he was out grocery shopping, came home with 2 new skillets, 2 knives, and a blender! Haha, crazy, I know. And the blender was for homemade salsa in case you're wondering. That's Jason, he's definitely one of a kind. :) So anyway, he started working out of town a lot and we weren't able to continue doing this. Hopefully we will start doing this again because I really enjoyed it.

We did cook something together the other night though because someone on a forum I was on said something about stir fry and I was like OMG, I have to have this now. I really wanted Mizu (Japanese) but we just made our best version. Chopped mushrooms, broccoli, squash, zucchini, bell pepper, onion, beef, and fried rice...

Yum!!

Our Little Bean

Yesterday we went to our first appointment. Everything went great! We got to see the baby's heartbeat. It was too early to hear, but seeing it was plenty assurance for me. On the ultrasound I measured 6 weeks 1 day and according to my EDD of August 28, I am 6 weeks 4 days so we are measuring right on track and nothing will change. Baby is the size of a blueberry but looks like a little bitty blob.

They also went ahead and did all of my blood work for my next appointment because they had to check my thyroid levels to see if they needed to raise my dosage. He said they may need to raise my dosage a couple of times but hopefully not too often. They will have to keep a frequent check on them to make sure that my thyroid levels do not get too low or too high.

I know that everything will be fine and that we are very blessed! My babies bring me so much joy in life that there couldn't be anything better. I can't wait to meet our new addition and his/her silly little personality.

This week I'm still having same symptoms as previous weeks which include fatigue, nausea, quite an appetite, and serious heightened sense of smell. Week 6: 115 lb. 31.5"

Pure Exhaustion

Ok, so I know it's been a while but if you couldn't already tell from the title of this post....I'm absolutely exhausted! You never really appreciate how much sleep you get to enjoy with your first pregnancy. You don't have any other children to chase around, you can nap whenever you want, go to bed when you want, and get out of bed when you want. That's what brings me to say that the holidays are all pretty much a blur to me. I know this sounds terrible and the only pictures that were really taken were from Jason walking around snapping them of people. Overall, we did have a great time with family & friends and the kids had a great time. Jaycelyn really got to enjoy the full effect of opening presents this year and Noah just didn't care. He let Jaycelyn open all of his gifts for him.

Yesterday was Jasons 29th birthday so we just had the family over for a small get together. He wanted a strawberry cake so I did manage to find enough love & energy somewhere to make one. Thanks to my neighbor Pam who let me interrupt her day and let me use her oven to finish cooking them because mine of all times wanted to quit in the middle of baking them. It all worked out good though and it was so moist and delicious, even though it did take about 3 hours to make. :) Here is the recipe, if you want to make it! It's a must try!
