Sick Baby

Eli hasn't been feeling good for about two weeks now. I called the nurse a couple of times to see if I needed to bring him in, but she didn't really act like it was urgent. I finally took him to the doctor yesterday because I knew this was more than a cold. He wasn't getting better and this had been going on for too long.

When the doctor checked him out, he said that he had croup and an ear infection. I've been running the vaporizer on full blast at night, rubbing vick's baby rub on him, and giving him cough medicine and tylenol this whole time because at first I thought it was a cold and I was trying to get rid of it quick. I think that's what really helped so much. I would hate to know what he sounded like if I hadn't been doing that. It was also hard to tell if he even had croup because none of my children have ever had it, so I didn't know what it was like and Eli didn't even act sick. He is such a wonderful baby. You wouldn't think he had anything more than a tooth coming through.

Does this look like a sick baby to you?

The Doctor sent us on our way with an antibiotic and a steroid. Hopefully this crud will be on it's way out the door just as quick!

Boo Boo's and Sippy Cups

I think I have one of the clumsiest children out there! Jaycelyn can do zumba in high heels but she can't even walk a straight line! Bless her heart, she's just one hyper silly girl, she just really needs to slow down and work on her balance a little bit! Okay a lot!
 Look at this pitiful face!

Black eye from her and Noah running into each other, only she got the worse end and hit his forehead. This was seconds after she ran face first right into the front door.

Scrape on her elbow where she fell in the driveway.

Her entire knees are bruised where she fell sideways out of the recliner, the exact same way, twice within seconds of each other! All of these happened over about three days!
Please tell me she'll grow out of this!

Today was one of my few attempts of trying to get Eli to drink out of a cup.

I guess I could have given him an easier cup but right now I refuse to buy any other cups except Gerber. This was the earliest stage that they had when I purchased them, but I think they make one for beginners also, or they used too. Maybe I can find one soon.

I'm sure you can guess how it went since I'm already on the lookout for another cup. He's done okay with it before and knows there is something in it but right now he prefers to just chew on it. He is teething though, I can't tell you exactly where because all of his gums are swollen but if he's anything like his brother and sister then they're probably all trying to make their appearance at the same time.

Basically he just looked at it...

shook it...

looked at me wondering what in the world I was doing...

and then rolled over and tried to eat it!

I think he'll catch on soon enough.
After all, I don't want to rush anything, he is the baby....for now!

Product Review: Rainforest Jumperoo

Today I wanted to tell you about the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo. Up until recently, I thought that every child had one because in my opinion, they are that great! I guess there are other great products out there as well but this is definitely one of those must haves in our house!
All three of my children have had one and absolutely loved it! I started putting them in it around 3-4 months old. They're usually always too short at first but a pillow or folded blanket under their feet works great until their tiny toes can reach the floor.
All three of them would spend hours on end jumping their little hearts out in this thing, take a little siesta and then wake up and get straight back to it. This is where Eli spends the majority of his play time during the day.

I think it really builds up their leg strength and helps them to stand very early on. Look at these thighs!

It has lights, music, sounds, and a lot of other little gadgets. I love all of the bright colors! It really grabs your little one's attention.

This frog and toucan hang over head. Eli loves to reach up and grab them.

He loves chewing on this little bug that hangs off of the side.

It also has three height adjustments....

I hope that we have helped you with your decision on this jumperoo. This little guy definitely approves and says, "Don't wait, go out and get one now!" :)

I hope it will be as much fun for you and your LO as well!
